Calgary teen organizes International Women's Day event to empower other young women
Celebrating women and advancing gender equality has been the focus of International Women's Day for more than one hundred years. In Calgary, one teen wanted an event to focus on empowering her generation — so, she organized one herself.
Be Bold, Be You: A Journey of Self-Love and Empowerment event!
Our International Women’s Day event, scheduled for March 8, 2025, will be a space where young women (ages 12-17) can engage in meaningful activities, connect with peers, and hear from inspiring guest speakers on empowerment and resilience. We aim to highlight what it means to be a woman—the challenges we face and the victories we achieve.
Girls will participate in engaging activities designed to foster confidence and connection.
In this exciting gathering, you'll embark on a transformational journey to discover and embrace your true self. Through a series of interactive workshops and discussions, you'll learn powerful tools to boost your self-love and confidence.
In Collaboration with Making Changes Association
We also have students offering free hairstyling and each girl will leave with goodie bags.
